End of Year Note

June 2023

Another school year comes to an end! This year  has been full of fun, trips to lots of exciting places and amazing new skills learned by our pupils. We will continue to celebrate our diverse and talented pupils and hope to nurture and enrich our school environment.

I would like to thank the Parents Association for all of the events that they organised this year and also for their many efforts at raising much appreciated funds which went towards our new outdoor exercise equipment and trampolines which the pupils have loved from the minute they came in.

We are fortunate to have such dedicated Teachers and Sna's that take pride in celebrating all of the milestones in our pupils lives, beyond our school goals, our pupils have many opportunities to excel outside the classroom with their peers and within the community. We look forward to bringing this approach to learning into our next school year.

We say  farewell to two of our amazing, talented and kind pupils who have graduated and are moving on to their new services.

To the families who are leaving us, we wish you all the best in your future destinations. For our returning and new families, we look forward to welcoming you back on the 28th of August.

Have a beautiful Summer,

Laura

End of Year Message
30 June, 2022

Another school year has passed in a blink of an eye and the summer holidays are already upon us. It was a year that saw the advent of a more hopeful period, as many of the challenges of the pandemic passed and we will able to turn our focus to new, exciting projects.

As we reflect, we are over-awed by the level of student accomplishment. Their hard work and tenacity during these recent times of uncertainty continue to inspire and motivate us to build a school  that will optimise their potential.

On a bittersweet note, the end of year means we had to say goodbye to some of our students. Although, we will miss them immensely, we are excited to see them embark on these new chapters in their lives. Similarly, we bid farewell to some staff members. We thank them wholeheartedly for their dedication and professionalism during their time in our school and wish them good fortune for the future.

Lastly, we would like to show our gratitude to our staff, parents, board members and whole school community for their devotion and diligent work throughout the school year. Together, we can continue to develop and enhance our students' educational experience.

Kind regards,

Laura Kelly

School Principal

New BCBAs
12 May, 2022

Several of our wonderful teachers and SNAs have recently passed the big BCBA exam. Today at ABACAS twelve of our staff are fully qualified behaviour analysts, representing 25% of the total staff. Hundreds of hours of supervision and study go into this process but the benefits to our school and students make it all worthwhile. Congratulations to all the new BCBAs.
