Abacas Kilbarrack's school policies are developed in conjunction with all school stakeholders. These policies are working documents which will evolve to meet needs as our school continues to grows and develop. You are welcome to read our policies by choosing the relevant link below.

This Admission Policy complies with the requirements of the Education Act 1998, the Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018 and the Equal Status Act 2000, the Disabilities Act 2005, the Education for Persons with Special Educational Needs Act 2004 and the Rules for National Schools as updated by relevant DES circulars.

This policy is formulated in accordance with guidelines issued by the Primary School’s Managerial Bodies and the Irish National Teacher’s Organisation.

This policy is formulated in accordance with the requirements of the Children First Act 2015, Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017, the Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools 2017 and Tusla Guidance on the preparation of Child Safeguarding Statements

A Code of Behaviour Policy is a requirement under the Education Welfare Act 2000.  It was prepared in accordance with Guidelines issued by the National Educational Welfare Board in May 2009.

This policy has been developed to deal with critical incidents. A Critical Incident is any incident or sequence of events, which overwhelms the normal coping mechanisms of the school and disrupts the running of the school.

Data Protection Policy

This policy has been prepared in accordance with the principles of data protection set out in the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003.

The Health and Safety Policy has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005.
